Where Jewish Learning Comes to Life

At Denver Hebrew, we believe that education should be joyful, immersive, and meaningful. Our dynamic program combines tradition and creativity to help each child develop a strong Jewish identity, build Hebrew language skills, and form a personal connection to Judaism — all in a fun and nurturing environment.

Teaching Philosophy

We make Jewish education engaging and impactful through hands-on, multi-sensory learning. Our classrooms are filled with energy, thought-provoking discussions, and joy. Lessons are designed to be creative, immersive, and interactive — ensuring that every child feels connected, empowered, and excited to learn.

Core Curriculum Focus

Our curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in Hebrew literacy, prayer fluency, Jewish history, traditions, and values. Children gain confidence reading and understanding the Siddur, while developing the skills to participate in Jewish rituals and holiday experiences.

Through age-appropriate lessons that evolve year by year, students connect deeply with the richness of Jewish life — from the stories of our past to the values that shape our future. Lessons emphasize kindness, ethical behavior, and Jewish identity in ways that feel personal and relevant to everyday life.

Jewish Heritage & Identity

We nurture a strong sense of Jewish pride and belonging by immersing children in the beauty of our heritage. Our engaging Judaica curriculum explores mitzvot, Jewish values, history, and culture through dynamic, experiential learning. Students learn not only about Judaism — they live it.

From celebrating Jewish heroes and holidays to exploring Israel’s role in Jewish life, every lesson is designed to strengthen each child’s connection to their identity and community.

Festivals & Jewish Life

Jewish learning comes alive through hands-on celebrations and immersive holiday experiences. Whether baking hamantaschen for Purim, Sukkot celebrations, or participating in a model Seder for Passover, our students experience Jewish traditions with joy and excitement.

Together with WCRJ Synagogue, we host family-centered events throughout the year that bring classroom learning into the wider community. These meaningful celebrations deepen students’ understanding and create lifelong memories rooted in Jewish joy.

Hebrew Language

Hebrew is the language of our people, and it plays a central role in our program. Students gain the ability to read, write, and understand Hebrew with fluency and confidence. Our curriculum develops skills in listening, comprehension, and conversational usage, while also building comfort with the language of the Siddur and Jewish prayer.

We use the acclaimed Aleph Champ program, a karate-inspired system that divides Hebrew reading skills into ten color-coded levels. Students progress at their own pace, gaining pride and motivation as they move from level to level.

Aleph Champ Levels:

  • White Aleph Champion – Master the first 18 letters of the Aleph-Bet
  • Red Aleph Champion – Master all 32 letters of the Aleph-Bet
  • Orange Aleph Champion – Master the first 3 vowels with letter combinations
  • Yellow Aleph Champion – Master the first 6 vowels with letter combinations
  • Green Aleph Champion – Master the first 9 vowels with letter combinations
  • Blue Aleph Champion – Master all the vowels and exceptions to the rules
  • Purple Aleph Champion – Master reading basic prayers
  • Brown Aleph Champion – Master reading higher-level Tefillot
  • Grey Aleph Champion – Master reading from the Siddur in a timed fashion
  • Black Aleph Champion – Master reading over 100 words in a minute

Aleph Champ’s color-level system creates a fun and competitive environment. Students are motivated to succeed, and their accomplishments are proudly celebrated throughout the year.
